Lord,
In the silence of the morning, I take my place as a watchman in prayer, to bring before You Your shepherds and leaders.
You lay upon my heart those whom You have appointed as leaders—shepherds, missionaries, and all who have dedicated their lives to You. I desire to carry them before You.
Your Word directs me how I should pray.
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” (1 Timothy 2:1–2)
Therefore, I first entrust to You my pastor and his family. Lord, embrace them with Your love, fill them with Your wisdom, and carry their burdens.
I pray for all who serve in our church. They long for You; they serve You. May Your Spirit guide them in every step, and may all that they do bring glory to Your name.
Your Word directs me how I should pray.
“And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.” (Colossians 4:3)
Give them courage to speak fearlessly of You, Jesus. In a world of compromise, keep them pure and upright before You and before all people.
“Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.” (Hebrews 13:18)
I remember the power of Your early Church, which, in prayer and fasting, sent workers into Your harvest. “So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.” (Acts 13:3)
Lord, may we as a community also stand behind them with such devotion. May each of Your servants today feel the power of this consecration.
I know that at times the flame barely smolders under the weight of ministry. Therefore, I ask You to fan the embers in their hearts into flame.
“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” (2 Timothy 1:6)
Renew in them their first love and passion for You, Lord. May the fire of Your Spirit burn brightly in them once more.
Jesus, I hear Your voice as You pray for them. I join with You and cry out to the Father with the same words.
“My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.” (John 17:15)
Yes, Father, protect them from the evil one. Guard their minds, their hearts, and their families. Be their shield and their fortress.
Strengthen them, Lord, for this day. May their hearts be watchful, their faith firm, and their steps courageous in Your power.
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” (1 Corinthians 16:13)
Thank You for hearing the cry of my heart. I entrust to You these precious men and women who love You. May they know today that they are not alone, for You are with them, and we are praying for them.
In Jesus’ mighty name.
Amen.
