Good morning, Father,
Thank you for this new day, for the light, and for your presence, which is with me from the very moment I open my eyes.
I come before you just as I am, with my thoughts, my cares, and all that dwells within my heart.
Lord, you are the one who sees into the depths of the soul. Before you, nothing is hidden. You know my failings and my faults, and so today, I surrender myself completely to you.
“O God, you know my foolishness; my guilt is not hidden from you.” (Psalm 69:5)
Before you there are no secrets, no small lies or hidden thoughts of which you are unaware. All that is within me is open and clear to you.
“And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:13)
Therefore, today I come to you asking for wisdom and revelation. At times, I feel a restlessness in my spirit, yet I cannot find the words to express what is wrong. I rely upon your promise.
“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and unsearchable things that you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)
Lord, I call to you. Please, show me what I need to see within myself. Reveal to me if any stronghold of fear, deceit, pride, or any sin that separates me from you is being established in my life.
“For there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.” (Matthew 10:26)
I believe that in your time, you will bring all things to light, so that I may face them in love and in truth. I am aware that I am fighting a spiritual battle, and that the enemy seeks an opportunity to sow a seed of evil within me.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God.” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
I ask you, equip me with these spiritual weapons. Help me to tear down wrong patterns of thought within me and to hold fast to your knowledge. Prepare me for the battle.
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the devil’s schemes.” (Ephesians 6:11)
When I sense the enemy at work, give me the strength not to surrender, but to stand against him, firmly anchored in my faith in you.
“Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” (1 Peter 5:9)
I pray for my heart, Lord. May a yearning for purity and sincerity grow within it. May I recognize my failings and turn to you in repentance.
“But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults!” (Psalm 19:12)
Let this be the cry of my heart, Lord. Cleanse me from the faults that are hidden from my own eyes, but which you can see. And when hardship and trials come, let me not seek refuge in hiding, but let me run to you.
“The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” (Psalm 9:9)
Be my Fortress and my safe Refuge. Each day I ask you, as Jesus taught us, guard me from the evil that lies in wait for me.
“…and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” (Matthew 6:13)
Finally, Lord, I commit myself to your guidance. I desire to walk in your ways, with hope and trust in your Word, that you might shape me according to your will.
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
Please, lead me as your child. Grant me patience, wisdom, and love, that I may mature in faith and serve you all the days of my life.
I place all this into your hands, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
