I guess you’ll agree with me that hospitality and openness to other people begin in our hearts. However, since we do not live in an ideal world, we know how difficult it is to trust strangers, sometimes even our close-ones.
Anyway, it is necessary to be cautious in establishing new contacts. But it is quite another thing to be kept isolated in your seemingly perfect lifestyle. Read this meaningful biblical passage:
Be sure to welcome strangers into your home. By doing this, some people have welcomed angels as guests, without even knowing it.
Hebrews 13;2
Jesus invites us to genuine hospitality, which means that we accept the other and help him in trouble, though sometimes at the expense of our own comfort.
Together we can ask God to show us how we can offer hospitality and help to others:

Dear Jesus, You know what it means to have the right attitude towards other people and things. Please show me a healthy dose of openness to others, without losing myself but to fulfill Your will. Teach me to be sincerely friendly, share my time, knowledge, and things. Open my heart to be able to accept what You want me to learn. I want to learn to love Thee in other people and accept them in their diversity. Lord, give me strength for the next step in this freedom. Amen.
