My Creator,
Let every breath and every movement today be a song of thanksgiving to You for the wondrous gift of life in this body.
“I thank You, for I am so wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, and my soul knows it full well.” (Psalm 139:14)
Help me to be mindful today of this amazing truth, and not to be critical of the body You have bestowed upon me. Help me to see my body through Your eyes—as a precious gift.
Remind me, I pray, that my body is not my own. It is the dwelling place of Your Spirit.
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a high price. Therefore, glorify God in your body.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
Lord, I confess that I often forget this sacred duty. I forget that caring for my body is a spiritual act and a way of honoring You. In the haste of life, I neglect it, burdening it with unhealthy food, insufficient rest, and too much stress.
I ask You, reveal to me my poor habits that have become deeply rooted over the years. Show me the areas where I do not care for myself well. Grant me the strength and resolve to take the necessary steps toward freedom.
Each day, You set choices before me. Help me, in every moment, at every meal, and with every decision concerning rest or movement, to choose what brings life.
“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today: I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore, choose life, so that you and your descendants may live.” (Deuteronomy 30:19)
Help me to take time for true nightly rest, as You intended in Your creation. Encourage me to move, so that my body may remain active, vibrant, and strong.
When I feel weary and disheartened, when the effort seems too great, remind me that You are the source of my strength.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” (Isaiah 40:29)
I know, Lord, that my body is transient. At times, I already feel its fragility and weakness. Yet even in this frailty, I can lean on You.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the rock of my heart and my portion forever.” (Psalm 73:26)
You are my steadfast rock and my eternal support. Therefore, today, with all my heart, I choose You and I choose life. With Your help, I desire to care for this temple which You have entrusted to me.
With You, I can change my habits and live in a way that brings You glory.
“I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
I surrender this day and my body to You. Use me for Your glory.
Amen.
