Lord,
Today I wish to be an instrument of Your love, so I first ask You to pour into my wife’s heart the knowledge of how precious she is in Your eyes.
Lord, You know her to her very core. You know her every thought, her every fear, her every hope. I sometimes see only the surface, but You see the depths of her heart, which are often hidden and incomprehensible to me. Thank You for understanding her completely.
“O LORD, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.” (Psalm 139:1–2)
I ask You, Lord, to touch her inner world today. All those thoughts, worries, responsibilities, and hormones that sometimes merge into a single, unbearable burden. You know every wound from her past and every anxiety for the future.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)
I ask You, Father, to help her see herself through Your eyes. When the enemy tries to convince her that she is not good enough, that she is a disappointment, or that her life is without meaning, remind her of the truth. Remind her that You knit her together and that in Your eyes she is priceless.
May she hear Your truth about herself in the depths of her soul: “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:14)
Lord, grant me the wisdom to be a good husband. Show me how to love her in the way You have taught us.
“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” (Ephesians 5:25)
Guard me from harshness and impatience when I do not understand her. Let my words and actions not be salt upon her wounds, but a balm that brings comfort. Teach me to listen, to truly listen to her heart.
“Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.” (Colossians 3:19)
I know, Lord, that You have not called us to turmoil, frustration, and distance. Your plan for us is deeper and more beautiful.
“But God has called us to peace.” (1 Corinthians 7:15)
Therefore, I ask that Your peace would flood her heart and our home today. Help her to anchor her soul in You and to turn her thoughts toward You, the source of all peace.
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3)
Bless her today, Lord. Enfold her in Your grace, protect her from lies, and fill her with Your Holy Spirit. Give her a sense of security, of being loved, and of peace. Help me to be an instrument of Your love for her today.
Amen.
