Morning Prayer for Today – You Are My Refuge

Merciful Saviour,

Your hand has never failed to deliver me, even when I am in trouble. 

When danger or crises disrupt the peace in my life or community, you have shown me that my safety is only in you and nowhere else.

Your Word is saying in Psalms 46:1-7:

 God is our refuge and strength, a very ready help in trouble. 

Therefore, we will not fear though the earth shakes and the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;

Though its waters roar and foam, the mountains quake at its swelling pride. 

There is a river whose streams make the city of God happy, the holy dwelling place of the Most High.

God is in the midst of her; she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.

The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered; He raised His voice, the earth quaked.

The Lord of armies is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.

Father, let my heart be still, and know that you are my God in the face of the different life crises that may confront me.

Let my soul worship and bless Your name as I trust you to keep me safe.

You have called me your own and brought me under the shadow of your wings. Therefore, I know I am safe.

Thank you for keeping your Word to protect me both now and always.
