Morning Prayer for Today – Restore Our Joy

Father, with the heart of gratitude I come before you today thanking you for my life and the comfort of knowing you love me so much.

Lord as I join other Saints in celebrating your son Jesus please fill my heart with your joy more than I have ever known.

I have lost in my life’s journey before now, let me find assurance and comfort in you.

Your word says in Isaiah 61:2-3 to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord and the day of Vengeance of our God to comfort all who mourn, to grant those who mourn in Zion giving them a Garland instead of Ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the cloak of Praise instead of a disheartened spirit so they will be called Oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that he may be glorified.

Lord refresh me with your Holy Spirit. Let me find the strength to stand, laugh and move forward again.

Please fill my heart with hope for the future knowing you have gone ahead of me to cause things to work for my good.

I pray this for every person grieving a loss this season too.

I may not know them but you do, so father I ask you to touch them and comfort them, restore their joy and give them strength to go forward.

With you on our side we haven’t lost and our Victory is sure in the end.
