Morning Prayer for Today – Let Me Stand For You

Lord Jesus,

Each time I remember all you did for my salvation and the salvation of humanity, I am most grateful.

You laid all your glory aside to take our place and stand up for us where we could not save ourselves. I thank you, Lord.

Now, I can stand before the Father without shame, fear, guilt and sin-consciousness. You have given me your Holy Spirit to always be with and guide me.

Lord, I pray for the grace to stand up for you as a light in this dark world void of peace, freedom, hope, and love.

You said in Matthew 5:14-16:

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;

Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

As I go about my business today, let this light shine through me.

Please fill me with your boldness, compassion, willingness, and anointing to stretch my hand to the helpless and hopeless around me.

Open my ears to hear the cries of those who need you. Please open my eyes to see the chains that keep people from coming to you.

Make me your vessel to break their chains and lift them up today. Let me stand for compassion, light, truth, and justice always.
