Morning Prayer for Today – I Will Be Still

Heavenly Father,

I cannot deny that these are trying times for people all over the world, with frightening events taking place all around.

Everyone is saying different things. There is frustration, depression, and fear of the next disaster.

Yet, in all these things, I choose to be still and know that you are my God and control everything that concerns me.

I stand upon your promise in Psalms 46:

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. He causes wars to end throughout the earth. 

He breaks the bow and snaps the spear; he burns the shields with fire. “Be still, and know that I am God! 

I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” 

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. 

I refuse to allow the news and disasters happening around me to cause me to waver and panic. God is my refuge, and I will not be moved.

I bring my loved ones and myself under the wings of your protection. Lord, keep us safe from harm and disaster.

I also pray for everyone in different corners of the world affected by one disaster or the other.

Please, Lord, help them see you in all the chaos. Open their eyes and their hearts to your love and compassion.

Help them see that you are the only safe place of refuge for protection and comfort from grief.

Thank you for answering my prayers.
