Morning Prayer for Today – Help Your Servants 

Lord God,

Thank You for the gift of Your servants that You have given to Your church.

Thank You especially for Your servants whom You have given to shepherd me and for the many things You have done in my life through them.

Today I am praying for every minister of the gospel around the world.

Your word instructs them in 1Peter 5:2-4:

Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not with greed but with eagerness; 

Nor yet as domineering over those assigned to your care, but by proving to be examples to the flock.

And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

I pray that they will shepherd Your church according to Your will.

Greed does not have a place in their lives, but like Christ, they will eagerly love Your people and teach us the truth.

Lord, I pray that Your servants will be good examples. They will follow Christ as we follow them.

Your word says in Galatians 6:9:

Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time, we will reap if we do not become weary.

I pray they will not be weary in the good work You have called them to do. Let them receive renewed strength to continue.

Please help them to find rest in the comfort of Your Spirit and blessings over them.

And in the end, they will reap the fruits of their labour over Your flock as they receive the crown of glory.
