Morning Prayer for Today – Help Me To Love Them

Lord Jesus,

You embody perfect goodness, benevolence, love, and goodwill toward everyone.

Your Word says in Psalm 11:7:

For the Lord is righteous, He loves righteousness; the upright will see His face.

And it adds in 2Corinthians 5:21:

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Through your sacrifice, you have made me your righteous one in whom your Holy Spirit dwells.

Today, I ask for the grace to follow your example to demonstrate love to those around me, including those who hate me.

You said in Matthew 5:44-45:

But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may prove yourselves to be sons of your Father who is in heaven;

For He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

I pray for everyone who has made themselves my enemies today.

Reveal to them any deep hurts or traumas in their own lives that may be contributing to their destructive actions.

Touch their hearts and heal their wounded soul so they can see clearly.

Please saturate my life with your Spirit’s power and might. Let Your love flow through me to them in a way they’ve never experienced.

Forgive me for holding on to offences against them that hinder my prayers. I release unforgiveness or hateful emotions from my heart. 

Grant me wisdom as I continually seek to bless, love, and pray for those against me, just like you would.
