Morning Prayer for Today – Fit For The Fight

Father God, 

I thank you for always giving me victory in the different battles that arise in my life.

Lord, I know that I would be crushed easily by my strength. Therefore, I depend on you to strengthen me for victory.

I am contemplating your Word in Ephesians 6:10-17:

Draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.

Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the Devil.

For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers,

with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.

Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground.

So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate, 

and your feet shod in readiness for the Gospel of peace.

In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all the flaming arrows of the Evil One.

And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Lord, standing on your word today, I put on your complete armor, which I need to overcome whatever the enemy throws at me.

I put on the defensive helmet of salvation- the consciousness of my redemption in Jesus Christ.

I put on the belt of truth- to always stand for what you say is the truth and not give in to compromise, no matter the cost.

Lord, I put on the breastplate of righteousness- confident that I am a citizen of Heaven through the righteousness of Christ.

Let me not have cold feet when it is time to share Christ’s message with others. Instead, let me be ready all the time.

Let my faith in your promises be my shield against satan’s attacks against me. 

And let your words in my heart and my mouth be my sword for breaking and cutting down anything that is not of you in my life.

Father, I know that with these, I am well equipped to stand against life’s challenges. Please, help me stand in them at all times.

So that in the day of adversity, I will be fit for the fight and assured of victory.
