Lord,
after a night full of shadows, I come to You, who are the Light of the new day.
Nights are at times heavy and filled with worries. But I know You have promised that I will find You if I seek You.
“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jer 29:13)
Your Word teaches me that even in my distress You give me a song and do not leave me alone.
“By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me—a prayer to the God of my life.” (Ps 42:8)
I remember Paul and Silas, who praised You even while in prison. Please, grant me the strength to imitate them.
“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.” (Acts 16:25)
In difficult moments, may I too remember Your goodness and meditate on You in my heart.
“I remember my song in the night; I meditate in my heart, and my spirit inquires.” (Ps 77:6)
Life often presses in and tests me, yet with You, I will not despair.
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;” (2 Cor 4:8)
When darkness surrounds me, it is You who lights my lamp and illuminates my path.
“For it is you who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness.” (Ps 18:28)
Therefore, I am not afraid. Though I may fall, I know You will raise me up, for You are my light.
“Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.” (Micah 7:8)
I believe that You hear my cries and deliver me from my distress, whenever I take refuge in You.
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.” (Ps 34:17)
Night and sorrow do not last forever. With You, there always comes a morning full of joy.
“For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.” (Ps 30:5)
Thank You for this promise, Lord. I entrust this day to You, with all that it may bring. Walk with me and be my light.
Amen.
