DO YOU HAVE A PRAYER REQUEST?

A Prayer for the First Week of Advent

Every year, as we enter Advent Time, we think, yearn, and plan with whom we will meet, with whom we will visit, and with whom we will associate in the anticipated Season of Christmas.

This year is so different. Are you lonely, or do you have a lot of activities planned with family and trouble balancing life and work? Are you facing distress because you don’t have a job? Are you sick or suffering from the loss of a relative?

No matter the circumstances, you can still find a place in the corner of your heart and say with the Apostle John

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”

John 3:16

Lord, you are sending Jesus so that I do not get lost in my distress and so that I may find peace and strength again.

  • "You're in our prayers" has become a cliche

Lord, help me to become closer to You and my loved ones again this Advent, just as You want.

Let me find a job or develop a talent that I didn’t have the time or energy for before.

Let me heal or at least realize what you want to teach me after this illness.

Lord, You have come for me to live in peace with myself, with others, and with You.

Lord, let me remember that I am your beloved son/daughter.

Amen.
