Let us all stand before the cross, and in this sacred moment, let the world’s weight slip from our shoulders. Pause here and let your thoughts dwell on the profound message found in Mark’s Gospel:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
Allow this truth to sink in deeply. Let the inner noise of your mind quiet down as you stand before the heart offered to you.
Wounded by our sins, this heart opened, intending to accept and embrace all that we carry. It is a heart that our suffering and pains have broken, and yet it remains open, eager to absorb and heal them right now, in this very moment. Remember the words of the psalmist:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).
As you stand here, offer up all the people who have wounded you, those with whom you cannot find common ground.

- "You're in our prayers" has become a cliche
Bring to this heart every burden and anxiety that weighs you down and keeps you from breathing freely and living fully in the light of God’s love. Jesus himself taught us,
“Forgive, and you will be forgiven” (Luke 6:37),
and so at this moment, let go of the anger and resentment and allow the healing to begin.
Speak to this heart about all your longings, desires, and hopes within you. Pour out your soul before it, just as Hannah did in the temple, saying,
“I was pouring out my soul to the Lord” (1 Samuel 1:15).
Share with it what you want, what you need, what you fear, and let the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in this sacred communion (Philippians 4:7).
Feel the touch of this heart as it connects with yours, offering a peace that the world cannot give. As you stand before this cross, know you are deeply and profoundly loved.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
Let this truth wash over you, filling every corner of your being with light and love.
Stand in this moment, fully aware of the sacredness of your connection to the heart of Christ, knowing that here, in this place, you are known, seen, and loved.
