Heavenly Father,
before this day even begins, two voices already contend within me—the voice of fear and Your voice of trust.
Lord, I confess that a new day often brings with it worries and fears. My mind fills with all the challenges, all the uncertainties, all the tasks that lie before me.
A quiet but persistent voice whispers to me: “What if you fail? What if it doesn’t work out? What if this is too much for you to handle?” This is the voice that seeks to paralyze me and keep me standing still.
But I choose not to listen to this voice of fear. I choose to listen to Your truth, which echoes in my heart and soul.
“The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)
Yes, Lord, You are my light that banishes the darkness. You are my salvation and my stronghold. When I am with You, I have no reason to be afraid.
Father, so often I rely on my own reason and my own logic. I try to calculate everything, to anticipate every possible outcome, and to protect myself from failure.
But I know that my reason often leads me back into fear, into inaction, when You are calling me to step forward. When You call me to something new, my mind warns of the risks, but You invite me to trust.
Therefore, I ask You, help me to live by Your word and to lean on You.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Lord, today I want to trust in You with all my heart. I do not want to lean on my own limited understanding. Help me to acknowledge You in everything I do today, and I believe that You will make my paths straight.
I know that You sometimes call me to new steps of faith, to greater commitments, into places where I feel uncertain. As with decisions about growth, expansion, or new projects, where fear tries to hold me back.
I do not want to remain stagnant in fear while You are moving. I want to move with You. I desire to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, not the fears in my own mind.
And so today, I make the decision to commit everything into Your hands. Every moment, every decision, every encounter.
“Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.” (Psalm 37:5)
Lord, to You I commit this way, this day. I commit to You my work, my family, my finances, and my relationships. To You I entrust my fears and my dreams.
I trust that You will act. Lead me according to Your will, and give me the courage to follow You without hesitation, even when the path is not easy.
Thank You for being a faithful God who always keeps His promises.
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen.
