Jesus, I awaken again with a troubled heart, and my first thought is of you, my Peace.
And this morning, in the silence of my room, you speak to me again: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” You teach me to believe in you, just as I believe in God the Father. Thank you for this invitation to trust, to surrender control.
Help me to live by your word today:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6)
Lord, you are my Way, my Truth, and my Life
Like Thomas, I sometimes do not know where I am going. I am confused and cannot see the path before me, and the world offers a thousand wrong directions.
But you answer me with a certainty that banishes all doubt: you are the Way, you are the Truth, and you are the Life. You are my guidepost, my compass, and my destination. I need nothing else.
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5)
In you, Lord, I am truly free. I am set free from the lies of this world, from fear and uncertainty, because I am coming to know you, who are Truth incarnate.
“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
In You I See the Father
My Lord, at times I long so much to see the Father, so that my heart might finally find peace. Like Philip, I ask you: “Show me the Father, and that will be enough for me.”
And your answer sobers me and, at the same time, fills me with immeasurable peace: “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” Thank you for revealing in your face the Father’s love, his mercy, and his power.
“I and the Father are one.” (John 10:30)
Lord, I believe that you are in the Father, and the Father is in you. I believe because of your works, which you perform in my life and in the world. And not only that, you promise me that I too, because I believe in you, will do great works. What an incredible promise!
Give me the strength and courage to do my work today in your name, to be an instrument of your love and your peace.
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
Thank you, Jesus, for preparing a place for me in the Father’s house, and for being the way to get there.
Amen.
