Morning Prayer for Today – You Are My Shepherd

Lord Jesus,

I lay my heart before you in complete dependence and trust like a sheep to its Shepherd.

Without you, I am lost, weak, exposed to hurt, and in lack.

You are my Shepherd, and I have all I need with you.

I am reading what your word says in Psalms 23:

The Lord is my Shepherd, I will not be in need. He lets me lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside quiet waters.

He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for the sake of His name.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me;

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you have anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Certainly goodness and faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life, and my dwelling will be in the house of the Lord forever.

Like the Psalmist, Lord, I declare in faith that I will not lack anything because I trust you.

In whatever situation I need direction, Lord Jesus, point me in the right way.

When I miss my way or step away from the path you set me, please, lead me back to you.

No one ever walks with you and misses their way. Hence, I am persuaded that I am safe with you.

Thank you for being there for me as always, Jesus.
