Morning Prayer for Today – Shine Through Me

Lord Jesus,

Through your work of redemption, you made me a light and salt on the earth, a bearer of good things everywhere I find myself.

Your word says in Matthew 5:

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 

Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Lord, I pray, please, help me shine your light on those around me today.

Let me be an instrument of your peace and love to the wounded and afflicted who will cross my path.

I receive your life-giving power upon me today. Use me to heal the broken and not break them further.

Let my neighbours, colleagues, family and friends see your glory working in me, directing me, and blessing whatever I do.

Use my words and actions to show the unloved, abused, rejected and dejected that you love and want them.

And let the results of this great day be to the glory of your name, Lord.
