Morning Prayer for Today – Prayer For The Nations

Almighty God,

Your Word says in Psalm 24:1:

The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, the world, and those who live in it.

You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth. You made the world and all that is in it, Lord.

Thank you for the various nations under heaven. Things may be difficult for most, but you are the source of life and preservation. You have good plans for your people.

I pray today for every country going through crises and wars.

I am contemplating Isaiah 1:

Your land is desolate, Your cities are burned with fire; as for your fields, strangers are devouring them in front of you; it is desolation, as overthrown by strangers.

If the Lord of armies had not left us a few survivors, we would be like Sodom; we would be like Gomorrah.

Lord, such is the situation in many nations. But I trust that you will arise when we seek your help and save our lands.

I stand on your promise in 2Chronicles 7:14:

And My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,

Then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 

Lord, I stand in the gap for my nation and any nation troubled by wars and disasters. Please, forgive our sins and heal our lands.

I ask that the Lord Jesus, the Prince of Peace, reign over these nations. Let the wickedness of men resulting in these wars cease once and for all.

For the sake of Your people, please save these nations so that Your plans will not be hindered and so the gospel and the saints may thrive in tranquillity.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.
