Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for another opportunity to fellowship with you, to know your heart, and receive your grace.
I am grateful for your gift of love and life and the blessing of a spiritual family called the Church.
Lord, I am reading your prayers in John 17:20-21:
“I am not asking on behalf of these alone, but also for those who believe in Me through their word, that they may all be one;
Just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.
As I contemplate your word, I see it is your deepest desire for all your children to be one.

The divisions caused by denomination, religiosity, hypocrisy, and pride do not represent your desire for us. Instead, it displeases you and causes damage to us.
Lord, please forgive us for our un-Christian behaviours, backbiting and condemning, when we should be standing together, loving and supporting each other.
Forgive my biases and unloving attitude towards other believers; my being too quick to criticise other brothers and sisters in the faith.
Please forgive me for my eagerness to denounce them as unfit for fellowship rather than seek out our similarities in Christ and rejoice in our Heavenly citizenship.
Lord, teach and empower me with grace to love others as You have loved me. Let me love without prejudice or bias.
Please bind us believers all over the world together in love, in the unity of spirit and the bond of peace.
Let your truth guide us to know that those who put their faith in your sacrifice on Calvary are forgiven sinners, heaven’s citizens, accepted and loved by the Father.
In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Amen.
