Morning Prayer for Today – Let Me Draw Closer

Dear Lord,

I love you, and I will worship you with my whole heart.

Lord, I confess that sometimes my actions and reactions betray the love I profess. It makes me increasingly aware that I am nothing without your grace and mercy.

My human efforts can not match your perfect divinity. Yet, you have blessed me with your love and Spirit in my heart to be with me always.

Lord, please forgive me for every time I allowed my ego and bitterness to lead me to act unbecomingly.

Please, teach me to walk in your paths of grace, mercy, integrity and love.

I am contemplating Your word in James 4:

Come close to God, and He will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.

Lord, I am confident that as I draw closer to you in fellowship and devotion, I will experience your presence in my life more and more.

With You on my side, all my oppositions and the battles that seem too difficult shall melt as wax.

Lord, as I walk daily with You, I will put my hope in You all day. I will walk in faith and not in fear. Because the Lord is on my side, I will not fear what any man can do to me.

May I not be distracted by the world. And may the trials I face not make me lose faith in You.

I pray for the grace to walk more closely and in love with you today and forward forever.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.
