Morning Prayer for Today – Lead Me, Lord

Father God,

Your love and kindness amaze me. Thank you for the blessing of life.

Thank you for providing all my needs. Lord, my life is in your hands. Lead me by your Holy Spirit.

I am meditating on your Word from Galatians 5:18-25, which says:

Brothers and sisters:

If you are guided by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are obvious:

Immorality, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, rivalry, jealousy, 

Outbursts of fury, acts of selfishness, dissensions, factions, occasions of envy, drinking bouts, orgies, and the like.

I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity,

faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Against such there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their flesh with its passions and desires.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit. 

Father, I know you saved me and gave me your Holy Spirit to lead and comfort me through life’s journey.

So, I ask for the grace to yield to you daily. 

Break down every resistance in my heart, and help me to produce fruits that prove your presence in my life.

You say in John 10:27:

My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord; I know them, and they follow me.

Therefore, tell me what I need to do when making any decision.

Tell me what to say at the right time. Teach me how to respond and treat others like Jesus.

I surrender my will to yours, Lord. You know what’s more suitable for me than I do. 

I invite you to work it in and through me always.

Dear Jesus, I am lost without you, but I am blessed when I follow you.

I can see this is Psalms 1:1-4 and 6:

Blessed is the person who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers!

But his delight is in the Law of the Lord, and on His Law, he meditates day and night.

He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season,

And its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.

The wicked are not so, but they are like chaff which the wind blows away.

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

I affirm that I will listen to you more. I will both hear and follow you when you lead me through the strength of your Spirit.

Lord, I am stronger when I follow your will and trust your Word.

You never abandon those who follow you with all their heart. So, I know you will not forget me either.
