Dear Father,
I can stand before you confidently in prayer and fellowship because of your love and forgiveness.
I have nothing to boast about in my own goodness, nor will I stand before you with a false sense of my own righteousness.
Instead, I admit I am whole because you showed me mercy and washed away my sins, calling me your own possession.
Lord, today I ask for your grace to also show this forgiveness to others.
I am reading Luke 17:1-4:
Now He said to His disciples, “It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to one through whom they come!

It is better for him if a millstone is hung around his neck and he is thrown into the sea, than that he may cause one of these little ones to sin.
Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.
And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”
Lord, by myself, I may not be able to tolerate others so much.
I may get angry and find it difficult to let go of their offenses until I avenge myself. Sometimes, I even harm myself too.
But with the grace of your indwelling Spirit, I know I can forgive the way you do. I can love the way you do.
Do not let me give room to the devil in my life through unforgiveness.
Instead, let me pray for those who offend me, tell them the truth in love, and show them kindness when possible.
Lord, use my actions to reveal yourself to those who offend me, allowing you to touch their lives for your glory and bring them healing where they need it.
In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Amen.
