Lord,
Before this day truly begins, I ask You to tear down every wall that my sin raises between us.
Lord, I come to You just as I am. I realize that my life does not work when I do not walk in Your ways.
I know that my sins and my wrong choices build a wall between us. A wall that prevents me from hearing Your voice and feeling Your closeness.
Your Word reminds me that this is true.
“If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.” (Psalm 66:18)
I do not want anything to stand between us, Lord. I do not want my prayers to go unanswered because of sin that I harbor in my heart.
Help me not to deceive myself about my own failings. Give me the courage to confess them immediately and to cling to Your forgiveness. I desire to have a heart without half-truths, completely open to You.
I want to draw near to You with all my being, for You promise that You will also draw near to me.
“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” (James 4:8)
Thank You, Jesus, for You are the way to the Father. Thank You, for You are the one who has torn down the dividing wall.
You brought peace where there was hatred, and unity where there was separation caused by sin.
“For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility” (Ephesians 2:14)
Thank You that I do not have to try to reach God on my own. I do not have to tear down the walls I build with my own strength.
You are the only mediator, the only way. In You, I have complete and free access to the Father.
“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,” (1 Timothy 2:5)
Therefore, today I rely on You, Jesus. I accept Your forgiveness and Your cleansing. I ask You, calm my impatient heart and fill it with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding.
May I walk today in the freedom that You won for me on the cross. May my thoughts, words, and actions reflect Your presence in my life.
I entrust this day to You, all my worries and all my joys. Guide me, Holy Spirit.
Amen.
