DO YOU HAVE A PRAYER REQUEST?

Pray These 3 Psalms to Add Peace to Your Day

Everyone craves peace in their life. Unfortunately, life often slams us with uncertainty, self-doubt, pain, and hopelessness. In the midst of all this, our hearts can become heavy. Our days start to feel dark and gloomy. Sometimes, we begin to lose hope.

But the beauty of it all is that Jesus came so that in Him we can have life and have it to the fullest.

What do you do when you need peace? How do you try to ensure a smooth and successful day? When you need comfort or reassurance that things will eventually be OK, turn to God’s promises —the Psalms.

God’s Divine Peace

If you need divine peace and hope, take some time to meditate on the following Psalms prayerfully. Allow the words in them to speak to your heart and fill it with peace. Ask God to plant the seeds of His divine tranquility in your soul and soothe you with His peace, regardless of the challenges around you.

3 Psalms for Divine Peace in Your Day

The book of Psalms is one of the most enriching books in the Bible. It reminds us that God reigns above every situation, no matter how big it looks. As long as you keep trusting Him, you don’t need to fear anything. God promises to be with you always. He has sworn He will never forsake you. In Him, we have the assurance of everlasting life.

How do we know God has promised these things?

Psalm 27:1, 4

King David’s desire to know and experience God drowned out all his worries. Take a moment to reflect on that. While God’s response to your situation may not come as quickly as you hope, hold on to your faith and continue trusting in Him.

When you focus on God, He may not necessarily wipe away your issues, but through His perfect will, He will give you His divine solutions. Just as David focused on God, keeping your eyes on the throne of grace will shift your focus. Instead of seeing your problem, you’ll see how big your God is.

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

4 One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.

Psalm 27:1, 4

    Psalm 40:1–3

When you feel stuck, the Bible commands you to remain calm. Keep your focus entirely on God regardless of the storms around you. Wait upon the Lord no matter how difficult the situation or how things appear to you.

You are His child, and He is Almighty. His ability is beyond human comprehension. He will turn your situation around for the glory of His name. When you surrender your all, open your heart, and cry out to Him, He will answer you.

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.”

Psalm 40:1–3

 Psalm 121:1–2

When your situation is uncertain, and nothing seems to make sense, surrender to God. Reflect on God’s blessings and remind yourself where your real help comes from.

The Lord will not allow you to fall or face more than you can handle. He watches over you each day. Fear not; His hand is strong enough to deliver you from any trouble. He has promised to be with you every step of the way.

“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”

Psalm 121:1–2

As you read the Psalms, remember David, who demonstrated throughout his life that even when you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you don’t have to be afraid (Psalm 23). When you focus on God, His peace will surround you, assuring victory with God on your side.
