Good morning, my Lord and Creator. You, who created all things, promise something incredible today. You promise a new heaven and a new earth.
Yet my heart is often still trapped in the old—in memories that hurt and in wounds that refuse to heal.
Sometimes it seems my life is a field sown with tears. Tears of despair, fear, and sorrow. But You give me hope that one day, joy will sprout from these tears.
“Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.” (Psalm 126:5)
Lord, I ask you, help me to believe in this promise. Help me to no longer be burdened by the past, by all that has been, and by all the mistakes I have made. I long to forget and to live in the newness that You bring.
“See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.” (Isaiah 65:17)
Lord, make all things new in me
What a comfort it is to know that in Your kingdom, there will be no more room for pain. That every tear I shed today will be wiped away. This is a hope that transcends all present suffering and fills me with peace.
“‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
Lord, this promise does not only refer to the future; it begins today, within me. Please, make all things new in me. I no longer want to be the old creation, trapped in sin and fear, but a new one, renewed in You.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Your promise is my hope
Your promise is not empty or merely spiritual, but concrete. You promise security, a home, and the fruits of my labor. You promise a life in fullness, where work is no longer a curse, but a blessing.
“They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.” (Isaiah 65:21)
Thank you, Lord, for this vision of the future. Help me to live today as a new creation, with my eyes fixed on the new heaven and new earth that You are preparing for me. May my life be a reflection of this joy and gladness. Amen.
Amen 🙏
