Lord Jesus,
sower of eternal life, I come before you at this new dawn, as the day awakens, and my heart is like the earth, awaiting your seed.
You are the one who walks through the field of my life, constantly sowing.
“Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed.”” (Matthew 13:3)
Your parable today speaks directly to my soul. Your kingdom is like the seed you have sown within me.
Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.”(Matthew 13:24)
You teach me, Lord, that this seed is Your holy Word, which I receive anew today.
“This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.” (Luke 8:11)
Help me not to be stingy with Your word in my life. May I sow it generously through my actions, words, and thoughts, so that one day I may also reap a bountiful harvest.
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” (2 Corinthians 9:6)
How wonderful is the mystery you reveal to me! I live my days—I sleep and I wake, I work and I rest—and all the while, You are working within me in a mysterious way that I cannot comprehend.
The seed of Your Word grows in me, and I do not even know how. You free me from the burden of needing to control and understand everything.
“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:6)
Lord, I often feel small and insignificant, like a mustard seed, the smallest of all seeds. But You promise me that even from my smallness, something great can grow, if only I allow You to work.
I believe I am chosen, despite my smallness. May my life, rooted in You, become a shelter for others, a place where they can find shade and peace.
I know the time is coming when the fruit will ripen. The hour of the harvest will arrive. I do not want that day to take me by surprise. Therefore, I ask You, Lord, to work in me, to shape me, and to prepare me.
“Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, trample the grapes, for the winepress is full and the vats overflow— so great is their wickedness!”” (Joel 3:13)
May I be ripe fruit at Your coming, ready for Your granary. May I be wheat, not weeds.
“Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, “Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”” (Revelation 14:15)
Thank you for not only speaking to me in parables, but for desiring me to be part of Your inner circle, a disciple to whom You explain everything.
Please, open my eyes and my heart today, that Your word may be a light to my eyes, and that I may truly understand Your will for me.
Amen.
