Good morning, God the Father. Thank you that you are not a God who is silent, but a God who speaks. Thank you for seeking ways throughout all of history to draw near to your children.
“In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways,” (Hebrews 1:1)
But all these past whispers and prophecies were only a preparation for your final, perfect Word.
“but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.” (Hebrews 1:2)
Thank you that this morning, you have also spoken to me through your Son, Jesus.
You are the Word who gives life
Lord Jesus, you are the eternal Word who was with the Father before time existed. Through you, all things were made, both seen and unseen.
Through you, I was created; every cell of my being and every beat of my heart resonate as an echo of your creative strength.
“In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” (John 1:4)
This light, your life within me, is what awakens me to a new morning. And even when darkness gathers around me or within me, you remain.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)
May your light today dispel my darkness, my doubts, and my fears. May your life within me overcome everything in me that is dead and unhealed.
You came to me, but I did not recognize you
You are the true light who came into this world to give light to every person. To me, as well.
“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.” (John 1:9)
And yet, how often I am blind to your presence.
“He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.” (John 1:10)
How many times have you been in the world of my heart, in the midst of my worries and plans, and I did not recognize you? I thought I was alone, but you were there.
“He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.” (John 1:11)
Forgive me, Lord, for all the moments I have rejected you. When you knocked in the form of a person in need, a quiet inspiration, or a trial, yet I insisted on my own ways, convinced that your plans, not mine, were too demanding.
But You, Jesus, are patient. Despite my blindness and the hardness of my heart, You offer me an incredible gift. You give me the opportunity to become a child of God.
Help me to receive You today with an open heart, and may I engrave Your will upon my life.
The culmination of your love, which surpasses my every rejection, has become visible and tangible.
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)
Thank you, eternal Word, for becoming human for my sake. Thank you for this immeasurable gift of grace and truth. Remain with me today and help me to live as your child. Amen.
AMEN!!!
