Morning Prayer for Today – Prayer For All Leaders

Lord God,

It’s another beautiful day You have made; I rejoice and take gladness in it. Thank You for Your steadfast love towards me and Your mercies each morning. 

Today I live in this confidence and enjoy all You have for me.

I thank You for the leaders You have placed over me in different spheres of life- the nation, community, church and everywhere else.

In obedience to what your Word says in 1Timothy 2:1-2:

First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made in behalf of all people,

For kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

I lift up everyone in a position of leadership and authority to You. I ask that You be with and strengthen them. Help them in their times of weakness.

Please help them function in their various capacity in a way that pleases you.

Your Word also says in Proverbs 29:2:

When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when a wicked person rules, people groan.

I pray for my leaders that You will clothe them with Your righteousness. Let wickedness be far from them so that Your people may rejoice.

Lord, I ask that their hearts be positioned to fulfil Your purposes on the earth. They will maximise their positions of authority to the glory of Your name.

This I pray in the name of Jesus Christ.
