Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this day, for the first day of the new year, which stretches out before me like a blank page. I am filled with anticipation and hope, sensing that something good awaits me just around the corner.
In my heart, I carry quiet desires and plans for this year—for my health, for my work, for my relationships with the people I love. But before I take the first step, I want to lay all of this before You.
Your Plan is Better Than Mine
Lord, all my plans are before You. Sometimes I cling to them so tightly, but today I ask You to bless them only if they are in accordance with Your will for me.
Help me not to follow my fears, but the dreams You have placed in my heart. Give me a fresh dose of optimism and enthusiasm.
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” (Proverbs 19:21)
Thank you for giving me the opportunity for a new beginning. Help me to leave behind the mistakes and regrets of the past year, but to learn from them.
I do not want to boast in my successes, but to use them to continue Your work through me. You are the One who makes all things new.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Your promise gives me strength. You, who sit on the throne, said that You are making everything new. Therefore, I entrust my life, my days, and my work to You.
“He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!”” (Revelation 21:5)
Stay With Me on the Journey
Lord, I admit that I am sometimes afraid of the changes and uncertainties the future brings. It is so easy for me to grow accustomed to comfort and the familiar.
But I know that You are the God who is always with me. Help me this year to truly abide in You, O God, and not be afraid.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
In a world where everything changes so quickly, You are my only constant, my Rock and my Refuge.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
Everything has its time under the sun—a time for endings and a time for new beginnings. I trust in Your timing for my life.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Fill Me With Hope
I ask You, Lord, let this be a year in which I grow in my trust in You. May Your Holy Spirit fill me with joy and peace.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)
Bless my path this year. Watch over my every step, my going out and my coming in.
“The LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” (Psalm 121:8)
Amen.
AMEN!!!
