Lord, today I do not step into this day under the shadow of condemnation, but in the freedom of Your grace, which has changed everything.
This death reigned, as Your word says, and at times, Lord, it seems it still tries to rule in my life, in my fears and weaknesses. This is the inheritance that has fallen upon us all.
“For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” (1 Corinthians 15:22)
But You, Jesus, are the complete opposite. You are the figure of the One who was to come, and Your gift of grace is incomparably greater than the trespass. Where sin brought condemnation, Your grace brought justification and life. You came to seek the lost, and I was among them, trapped in the chains of disobedience.
Your Grace Is Greater Than Condemnation
Your obedience became the source of righteousness for me and for many. You did not come with power, but with complete submission to the Father’s will, to the very end.
“he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!” (Philippians 2:8)
And why? Not because I deserved it. Not because I was good. You did this while I was still Your enemy, a prisoner of sin. Your love knows no bounds, and Your cross is the proof, etched into history forever.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Because of You, Jesus, I no longer stand under condemnation. The old judgment, which came from one man, is overcome by the abundance of Your grace. Your blood has washed me clean, and Your one act has justified me.
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,” (Romans 8:1)
In You, I Am a New Creation
Thank you, for through You, I can reign in life today. I no longer live in the shadow of death, but in the light of Your justification. The old has truly passed away; the past no longer has the final say.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Help me to live out this newness today, Lord. May I walk as one who has received an abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness, not by my own merit, but through Your immeasurable gift. Amen.
