Good morning, my Lord, my Light and my Salvation. I come before you in the silence of this new day, just as those two blind men from the Gospel came to you—with longing and hope. I too am often blind, Lord. Blind to your presence in simple things, blind to the needs of the people around me, blind to the path you have prepared for me.
But you are here, in the house of my heart, and you ask me the same question you asked them: “Do you believe that I can do this?” And my answer echoes from the depths of my soul: “Yes, Lord, I believe!” I believe that you can open my eyes and heal my blindness.
Therefore, today I cling to your words, which are promise and power:
“Let it be done for you according to your faith!” (Mt 9:29)
Let it be done to me according to my faith in you. According to the faith that you are not merely a God of the past, but a God of the present, who works miracles in my life today. I ask you, touch my eyes, that I may truly see.
For you have promised a time of renewal, a time when everything will be turned upside down by your wondrous logic.
“In a very little while, will not Lebanon be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be regarded as a forest?” (Is 29:17)
Lord, let this transformation happen within me. Let the desert of my heart become a blooming garden, full of your life. Let my smallness and poverty be changed into a forest of strength and shelter for others, all by your grace. I ask you, give me open eyes for Your glory.
For your promise is for all who are on the margins, for all who feel unseen and unheard.
“In that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book, and out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind shall see.” (Is 29:18)
Open my ears to your Word and my eyes to your light, that I may know how to recognize your work amidst the gloom and noise of this world.
The result of this seeing and hearing is not pride, but an immeasurable, humble joy.
“The meek shall obtain fresh joy in the Lord, and the poor among mankind shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.” (Is 29:19)
Grant that today I may be among these humble ones who rejoice in you. That I may find my joy not in what I have or what I can do, but in who you are—my holy God.
With this new vision, fear vanishes. The feeling of inferiority and shame that so often paralyzes me disappears.
“Jacob shall no more be ashamed, no more shall his face grow pale.” (Is 29:22)
Thank you for saving me from shame. For in Christ, you give me a new name and a new dignity. May my face no longer be pale with fear, but may it shine with the joy of being your child.
Therefore, with all my heart, I can exclaim the words of the psalmist, which are my morning hymn of trust.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” (Ps 27:1)
You are my light, who illuminates my darkness. You are my salvation from all that threatens me.
“The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Ps 27:1)
With you, I am safe. Help me today to live without fear of the world, for you are the stronghold of my life. No one and nothing can snatch me from your hand.
My faith is not an empty hope, but a firm conviction, founded on your faithfulness.
“I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!” (Ps 27:13)
I believe that your goodness is not reserved for eternity alone, but that I can taste it today, here, in the land of the living. Help me to recognize it.
Therefore, I begin this day with your call to courage, which I pray will echo within me until the evening.
“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” (Ps 27:14)
Yes, Lord. Today I will hope in you. I will trust you. May my heart be strengthened in you.
Amen.
