Tim Tebow, former NFL quarterback and founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation, remains committed to rescuing children from the horrors of sexual exploitation. “For too long, child sexual exploitation has been hidden in the darkness of the internet. It’s an evil that has decimated the lives of so many children,” Tebow declared.
This year’s initiative, dubbed “unKNOWN and unFINISHED,” seeks to build on last year’s success. Tebow emphasized the ongoing need, saying, “There are still hundreds of thousands of boys and girls in despair. This year, we’re asking people to stand with us to continue this fight to reach, protect, and love every child waiting to be identified and rescued.”
The grim reality is stark. “Right now, law enforcement can see over 500,000 unique IP addresses around the world actively trading child sexual abuse material… images and videos of children under 12 being abused, raped, and tortured,” Tebow noted in a recent Facebook post. “The majority of those offenders are also committing hands-on offenses against children in their own homes and communities. Even worse, these offenders have an average of 13 victims each.”
Tebow's call to action is clear: if compassionate individuals unite, they can make a significant difference. “Stand together, side-by-side,” he urged, believing that collective effort can radically change the lives of affected boys and girls.
The unKNOWN & unFINISHED campaign aims to:
- Safeguard: Expand global rescue operations to identify, locate, and save as many sexually abused and exploited children as possible.
- Stand Up: Equip law enforcement with the necessary training and technology to target the most vulnerable children and the most dangerous offenders.
- Strengthen: Build a more extensive rescue team of analysts, investigators, and law enforcement to speed up rescues and prevent new victims through legislation.
Since its inception in 2010, the Tim Tebow Foundation has championed numerous causes to bring faith, hope, and love to the world’s most vulnerable. This campaign is now in its second year and marks Tebow’s 37th birthday fundraiser.
Last year's campaign raised over $2.6 million, leading to the preliminary identification of more than 800 victims of child sexual exploitation, with hundreds rescued in collaboration with partners and law enforcement over the past year.
