Alexandra Osteen, daughter of famed pastors Joel and Victoria Osteen, has immersed herself in the unique world of megachurch ministry. Raised in Lakewood Church, one of America’s largest congregations, she now steps confidently into the spotlight as a worship leader and member of Lakewood Music.
“They’ve always just been my parents,” she says of her famous family, “but who they are on stage is exactly who they are at home.”
Lakewood Church, drawing over 45,000 attendees each week, became Alexandra’s home when she was seven. Looking back, she now sees the extraordinary nature of their ministry. “This is the hand of God,” she reflects, understanding that her family’s mission is not just a matter of scale but stewardship. “We must always point to Jesus.”
Lakewood Music’s latest album, Oh, How Worthy, showcases this focus. The album features 13 tracks, including collaborations with Tauren Wells and Alexander Pappas, and is a testament to God’s goodness. “Every song is inspired by Scripture and testimonies of what God has done in our lives and others’,” Alexandra says.
One of the standout songs, Outnumbered, has a unique backstory. Co-written by Joel Osteen, it was inspired by his sermon about King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles. Alexandra explains, “The message is powerful. With God, the enemy is always outnumbered.”
Alexandra emphasizes that Lakewood Music’s goal is not fame but to spread the hope of Jesus to the world. “We just want to lift the name of Jesus,” she says.
