Morning Prayer - Rest In God's Plans

Dearest Father,

I choose to rest in your plans concerning my life. No matter what may happen, let me not lose my assurance of your integrity.

I am contemplating your words from Habakkuk 3:16-19:

I heard, and my inner parts trembled; at the sound, my lips quivered. Decay enters my bones, and in my place I tremble;

Because I must wait quietly for the day of distress, for the people to arise who will attack us.

Even if the fig tree does not blossom, and there is no fruit on the vines, if the yield of the olive fails, and the fields produce no food,

Even if the flock disappears from the fold, and there are no cattle in the stalls,

Yet I will triumph in the Lord. I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.

The Lord God is my strength, and He has made my feet like deer’s feet and has me walk in my high places.

Lord, I often get blinded by the challenges surrounding me so much that I complain like you haven’t been faithful.

Please, Father, open my eyes to see your faithfulness around me and let me draw my assurance from them.

Let your Spirit remind me of your goodness during any unfavorable situation and fill my heart with joy and gratitude.

Let my eyes see your hand in my situations, and let my heart be assured that you are with me to take care of me.

In Jesus’ name, I have prayed.

Amen.
