Paul Rudd’s Quest for the Divine: Marvel Star Seeks an Audience with Jesus

Who would you choose to meet if you could pick anyone from history?

During a recent interview, Marvel’s beloved “Ant-Man,” Paul Rudd, expressed a wish to meet Jesus Christ.

“I know my answer: Jesus Christ,” Rudd declared.

Despite the chuckles from his co-stars, Rudd remained earnest about his unusual choice.

“Laugh all you want, and it seems like a wrong thing to say,” Rudd remarked. “He existed, right? So wouldn’t you want to spend some time with Him and go, ‘Jesus, what’s the deal?’”

But does this reveal a deeper spiritual connection for the star?

Rudd has openly pondered the mysteries of existence and spirituality before. In a previous discussion with People magazine, he contemplated the afterlife and the existence of God, triggered by the loss of his father.

“So what is there after? Does God exist?” Rudd questioned. “When you died, did you float above and see everything down? And did you feel all of your dead relatives coming around? And if so, how far back did that go?

Did you stop at the grandparents, or did you have great-great-grandparents that you never knew were like, ‘Mike, finally? Great to see you.’ Wait till you see what all these things are about. Get ready for your mind to be blown.”

Raised in a Jewish family, Rudd’s childhood was steeped in Jewish culture and traditions.

“[Mine] was bar mitzvahed Reform; we were pretty laid back, but it’s like…I went to the synagogue. I know what it’s like to look for matzoh. I know the culture, and I know the food. I know what a Haggadah is,” Rudd shared in an interview with the Jewish Journal.

Rudd’s diverse spiritual background and candid reflections on life, death, and faith offer a profound glimpse into his quest for understanding. His curiosity invites us as a community to hope that he finds the spiritual answers he seeks.
