Jesus, I stand at a crossroads, and I know that without Your help, I cannot choose the right path forward.
I come before You at the start of this day, for I feel that my life is not what I wish it to be. I know that if I continue to do the same things I have always done, I will have the life I have always had. Something must change.
You are the answer, are You not? You are the friend who desires to help me in all that I do, offering me a future I cannot even imagine for myself. You invite me to become a new creation.
And I believe You are more than just a friend; Your Word says that…
“…there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” (Proverbs 18:24b)
Thank You for this faithfulness. Thank You for waiting for me, ready to bestow upon me a new life that surpasses all my wildest dreams.
I believe in Your power at work within me, and I cling to the promise:
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,” (Ephesians 3:20)
Today, I wish to make the most important decision of all. More important than choosing a career, whom I will marry, or where I will invest my money. This is a decision that concerns eternity. I want this morning prayer to be my Response to Your Invitation.
Help me to understand that death is not the end. That I will not simply vanish, but will only begin to exist in another place. Help me to see death as a passage through a revolving door, where I simply leave one room and enter another.
I no longer want to live in uncertainty about where I will spend eternity. I want to hold fast to Your promise of the dwelling place You have prepared for me.
“For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.” (2 Corinthians 5:1)
You have gone ahead to prepare a place for me. This thought fills me with immeasurable peace and hope.
“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” (John 14:2)
Thank You, Jesus, for this certainty. Thank You for choosing me, and thank You for giving me the strength to choose You today. I know that on this journey, I No Longer Try Alone.
Your promise is my rock and my refuge.
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20b)
In Your name, I begin this day.
