Morning Prayer for Today – Praying For Missionaries

Dear Lord,

I worship you because you are a great God, and no one is like you. You are the only one worthy of being called God.

Lord, it is a great pleasure to pray, and I always look forward to spending these moments with you.

Let your Spirit empower me with light as I pray now.

Let your will be done as I pray for those you have called to take your message to the far ends of the earth.

You have said in Psalm 145:

Let all your works give you thanks, O LORD, and let your faithful ones bless you.

Let them discourse of the glory of your Kingdom and speak of your might.

Making known to men your might and the glorious splendor of your Kingdom.

Your Kingdom is a Kingdom for all ages, and your dominion endures through all generations.

The LORD is just in all his ways and holy in all his works. The LORD is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.

Lord, these ones have submitted everything in their lives to you and have made it their mission to tell others about Jesus.

They did not call themselves, but you have called them for this particular assignment.

You said in John 15:16:

“You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. I have appointed you to go and produce fruit that will last,

So that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.

Therefore, I ask you to pour out your anointing upon them.

Lord, these missionaries cannot have so much influence by their own words or power.

However, with your Spirit’s anointing, they can show everyone how great you are.

I am reading from Luke 10:1-9:

The Lord Jesus appointed seventy-two disciples whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit.

He said to them, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.

Go on your way; behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves.

Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals; and greet no one along the way.

Into whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this household.’

If a peaceful person lives there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.

Stay in the same house and eat and drink what is offered to you, for the laborer deserves payment.

Do not move about from one house to another.

Whatever town you enter and they welcome you, eat what is set before you,

Cure the sick in it and say to them, ‘The Kingdom of God is at hand for you.’”

Lord, when people see your power, they will believe. So, Father, release your power on all missionaries in the field.

Give them the right word for the right people and at the right time. Let them bear lasting fruits as you desire there.

I can see in 2Timothy 4:16-17:

At my first defense no one appeared on my behalf, but everyone deserted me.

May it not be held against them!

But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength, so that through me the proclamation might be completed and all the Gentiles might hear it.

Lord, I pray you are with them wherever they find themselves. They have surrendered their lives to preach the message of Christ.

Preserve your servants. Give them all the strength and power they need to proclaim the gospel.

Comfort every missionary in the field. Direct them, and go with them. Let your presence give credibility to and influence the message.

Let more and more people come to Jesus through the mighty works you are performing through your humble servants.

And may they not fall out of the faith but remain faithful until the end.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.

The task is great, but with Jesus Christ as their pilot, they will be able to weather the storm. Contending for the faith is a part of the journey, while fully trusting Jesus is the rock on which they stand.
