My God,
I come before You in the silence of this new day, like a small and sometimes so fragile shoot, clinging to its vine. You are that vine, Jesus, the source of all life, sap, and strength. Without You, I am but a dry branch, destined to wither, powerless and fruitless.
My deepest desire is to remain closely connected to You, to abide in You, and You in me. I know that at times, worldly cares, my own selfishness, and sin try to sever me from You.
In those moments, I feel my soul drying up, how I become impatient and joyless.
Therefore, I ask You, help me to consciously cling to You today, so that in my search, I may always find my way back to You.
Help me to draw near to You with all my heart, even when I feel unworthy and divided.
“Come near to God and he will come near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” (James 4:8)
What a comfort it is to realize that this relationship does not depend solely on my own strength. You remind me that the initiative was not mine. It was You who sought me and chose me to be a part of You, a part of Your plan.
This realization fills me with humility and immense gratitude.
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” (John 15:16)
I do not wish to live for myself alone. I desire for my life to bring forth fruit for the glory of the Father. May my actions, words, and thoughts today be the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. Show me how I can become a better disciple of Yours today.
“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” (John 15:8)
I know that I am weak and that my strength often fails me. But I trust that Your grace surpasses my powerlessness. When I feel empty and incapable, You promise me abundance.
Please, fill me with Your grace, so that I will always have all that I need and may find strength in You, and share goodness with others.
“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Cor 9:8)
Lord, my plea is that this connection with You may not be merely a fleeting inspiration, but a constant in my life. I desire to bear fruit for You in every season of life, even when my hair is gray and my step has slowed. May my life be fruitful in Your love until the very end.
“They will still bear fruit in old age; they will be fresh and green.” (Psalm 92:14)
Remain with me today, Lord. Keep me close to You, that as a living branch on You, the true vine, I may bear abundant fruit.
Amen.
