Lord, the words “this is too hard” hold too much power in my life; help me to replace them today with Your truth.
I confess, Lord, that I too often fall into the trap of thinking, “This is too hard.” This phrase becomes my excuse, my justification for passivity and negative thinking. My gaze fixates on the obstacles, and I forget that You are the one who prepares the way for me.
Help me today in prayer to truly surrender my emotions to You, especially the feelings of helplessness and fear that hide behind those words.
Destroy this lifelong excuse with Your truth, Lord. Destroy the lie that Your will for me is too difficult.
“For this command that I am giving you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it far away.” (Deuteronomy 30:11)
Your word is not something distant, something unattainable, but it is here, for me. It is not hidden in the heavens or beyond the sea.
“For the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it.” (Deuteronomy 30:14)
Lord, help me to be like Joseph. His life was not easy. His brothers hated him, sold him into slavery, and he was unjustly imprisoned. He had every reason to give up and say, “My life is too hard.”
But he did not lament how difficult life was. In everything, he saw You and Your hand, which turns evil into good. Instead of complaining, he said, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.”
Teach me this posture of Joseph today. Help me not to listen to the whispers of the enemy, who paints dark scenarios and lists everything that can go wrong. Open my ears to Your encouraging words.
Open my eyes to see opportunities in difficulties and a path to blessing in trials. I no longer want to rely on my own strength, for I know that I no longer try alone. Whenever You ask me to do something, You always give me the ability to carry it out.
When fear or doubt seizes me today, remind me of Your promise.
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
Thank You for not merely commanding me to be strong, but for also giving me that strength. Thank You for being with me every step of the way.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
With this certainty, I enter into this day. It may not be easy, but with You, I can do all things.
Amen.
