Good morning, Father,
I thank You for this new day and for the strength I find in prayer.
Today I come before You with a plea for myself—for my mind, which is precious and constantly under assault.
The world and the enemy strive in every way to seize control of my thoughts. Through all that I see and hear, they sow confusion and fear.
But I resist them in Your name. I submit myself fully to You, Lord, and Your Word gives me courage.
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
Lord, You know that mental turmoil and confusion are not Your will for me. I reject the spirit of fear and embrace the spirit of power, of love, and of a sound mind that You give me.
Therefore, I enter into spiritual battle today, declaring that You have destined me for a sound mind. My prayer is for a spirit intent on dwelling in You, Lord, that my mind may be sharp, clear, stable, and tranquil.
I ask You, Lord, to guard my mind from all confusion, dullness, and negative thinking.
Do not let me live trapped in the futility of my thoughts, as do those who do not know You.
“So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.” (Ephesians 4:17–18)
Instead, I pray that my mind may be filled with Your Word and Your truth. I desire for a free heart, filled with all that is good.
Help me to understand that what I allow into my mind becomes a part of me, and guide me to meditate on all that is true, noble, and worthy of praise.
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” (Colossians 3:2)
Lord, You are not a God of confusion, but of peace. I long to experience Your peace, which surpasses all understanding.
I know this peace comes when my mind is centered on You.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” (Isaiah 26:3)
May my heart be steadfast in You. May I grow in trust in You and Your Word, that I may live in the peace and with the sound mind You have bestowed upon me.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
