My Lord,
Thank you for this new day and for the immeasurable gift of my child, whom you have entrusted to my care and upbringing.
Ever since their birth, I have asked you to reveal the gifts, talents, and abilities you have placed within them, and to show me how I might best nurture these for your glory.
I know that you have created them perfect and unique. Therefore, with the psalmist, I cry out from my heart and praise you.
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:14)
Lord, I ask you to reveal these hidden treasures in my child, that they may become apparent to me and to them. Grant me the wisdom to know when a gentle push is needed, like persevering with piano lessons, and when it is time for a change and for freedom—for drums or something else entirely.
Let me be a good steward of the gifts you have bestowed upon them.
I know that each person has their own path and their own gifts, for you are the source of all things and you gift each one according to your measure.
Your Word confirms this to me when it says:
“But each has his own gift from God, one of one kind and one of another.” (1 Corinthians 7:7)
Lord, let me not be a passive observer, but an active co-creator of your plan. May I have the wisdom to recognize your promptings, those quiet inspirations of the Holy Spirit, and help bring them to fruition in my child’s life, dedicating every action for Your glory.
I also pray for my child’s heart. May all that they do not be merely for outward success or recognition, but may it spring from a deep love for you.
Remind them that the inner motive is what matters most, as you have taught us:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” (Colossians 3:23)
I am aware, Lord, that the enemy does not sleep. He desires these gifts for himself; he wants to distort them or at least silence them, so they do not serve you.
Therefore, I ask you to protect my child from the temptations of worldliness, from the false glamour of the world that beckons them away from you.
Teach them that it is possible to live in the world but not for the world, and that every action can be consecrated.
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
Please, do not let fear, feelings of inferiority, or insecurity prevent the use of these gifts. Help my child know that through you, they can receive power to rise above these feelings, encouraging them not to bury their talents in the ground, but to bravely develop and use them.
Your parable of the talents is so clear and eloquent:
“For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.” (Matthew 25:29)
May my child realize that their talents are not for them alone. They are given to serve others, to build your kingdom, and to bring light into this world. May they be a good and faithful steward of your grace.
As your apostle Peter teaches:
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)
Open the right doors for them and close all the wrong ones. Bless the work of their hands, that it may bear fruit for your honor, and that their life may be a song that glorifies your name. Thank you for hearing my prayer and for your faithfulness.
Amen.

Without you Lord we are nothing, Without you Lord we are empty.
Without you Lord we would not exist.
For you Lord are my everything.
Amen ❤️
